Kefalonia Island Tour – Full Day
Pick up from Cruise Ship terminal in Argostoli. We will drive towards Valsamata Village to visit the Cooperative Winery to taste the famous local grape variety, Robola. Then we proceed to the Monastery of Agios Gerasimos who is Kefalonia’s patron saint.
Then we move to Sami area where we will visit the 150-million-year old Drogarati cave with exquisite stalactite and stalagmite formations and Melissani Lake cavern, once the worship site for god Pan’s ancient cult, accessible by small boat. The sunlight, entering through the cave’s collapsed part of the roof, turns everything within the cave into a fairyland of iridescent light.
Our next stop is the seaside village of Agia Efimia for free time for coffee or lunch. Then we proceed towards north end of the island to Fiskardo Village with lovely houses (some date back to the 18th c) painted with vivid colours, picturesque narrow alleys, tourist shops, restaurants, fish tavernas, bars, and cafés.
On the way back, we will have a short photo stop at Myrtos Beach.
Return to Argostoli Port.
